Superbreak is renowned for its short breaks and the expertise it has built up over the years is obvious from the high-quality content on the website.
What we liked: While the company’s prices are not always the lowest, it offers lots of ideas as well as some decent, attractive deals.
Superbreak is very popular with backpackers and independent travellers, which says a lot for the service it offers. The scope of the accommodation on offer is wide and you can choose from thousands of hotels across the world, although the vast majority are in the UK. However, with the current poor sterling-euro exchange rate, staying closer to home may be a better option at the moment.
Alongside suggestions for romantic getaways and city breaks in Paris, London and Edinburgh, Superbreak gives you ideas for trips involving the theatre, concerts and attractions such as Alton Towers. We especially liked the budget section, which promotes offers costing £99 or less per person – useful in these recession-stricken times.
How it can be improved:
Hotel prices are not broken down night-by-night - you just get one price for the entire break, per adult rather than room. Special offers are not immediately clear and the site is also quite cluttered.
Our verdict:
Superbreak is a great site to visit for inspiration when you’re planning a weekend away. It features some great hotel offers for budget travellers, but not as much choice as our other award winners.
