Golf GTI Project

The car industry has always been innovative when it comes to showing off its wares online. Now Volkswagen has upped the ante with this brilliant website, which puts you in the driving seat of the new Golf GTI – or, to be more exact, a Scalextric version of it.

The site is a flashy effort, in more ways than one, and revolves around testing the car on a special virtual circuit. Be warned though that if you crash more than three times the chief engineer will take the keys off you. As well as information about the new model you can enter a competition to win a GTI for three months if you can do a lap in less than 40 seconds. It’s ingenious and fun.
