Minggl uses a single Inbox to collate messages from a variety of social sources.
What we liked:
Although it lacks support for instant messaging, Minggl is a social-network manager that has some welcome surprises. Besides letting you update your status simultaneously on multiple networks, Minggl gathers together all your new emails and messages from a wide range of services in a single Inbox.
Similarly, the Friend Manager groups all your friends together in one place, regardless of which social network they belong to. There’s a Mass Mailer for sending out messages and invites, and you can tag contacts to make them easier to find and show only certain groups of friends. You can also select the star next to someone’s name to add that person as a top friend.
Minggl currently supports MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr and Twitter. We particularly like the Minggl Notes tool that lets you post comments on any web page and then share your thoughts with friends on Twitter.
How it can be improved:
Minggl has no facility to manage blogs and instant-messaging accounts and its friend-search facility doesn’t work with surnames. Minggl is currently limited to IE and Firefox users running Windows and Firefox users on Macs.
Verdict
Minggl dispenses with the tedium of having to check lots of Inboxes by collating all your online correspondence. Hopefully, more services will be added soon.
