The ideal service for forgetful or busy people, LetterMeLater lets you schedule emails to be sent to anyone you wish, whenever you want. This makes it extremely useful for setting up birthday and appointment reminders; delivering instructions to colleagues while you’re on holiday; and sending messages in the future that might otherwise get forgotten. And LetterMeLater couldn’t be easier to use. Compose your email online, specifying the addresses you want to send it to and from, then use the calendar t o decide the exact date and time you want the message to be delivered, and click ‘Schedule to be sent’. You can generate content-rich HTML emails, create group mailing-lists using contacts imported from your Address Book, and send scheduled text-messages to your mobile phone. Although you need to register with LetterMeLater to enjoy its full range of options, you can use the site’s Quick Send facility to compose and schedule simple messages. Both methods are free and let you Cc (carbon copy) and Bcc (blind carbon copy) multiple recipients. The only drawback to ‘quick sending’ is that it employs a default ‘@lettermelater.com’ return address in favour of your own, which some email providers may classify as junk mail. If you open an account, you can manage all your messages through the site and confirm when each is due to be or has been sent. Reliable and flexible, LetterMeLater frees you from the constraints of the Send button by taking over the manual task of sending email and the mental effort of remembering to do so.
