Flowersdirect

This online florist has been spruced up with a fresh look and a whole bunch of bargains.
An airy and attractive homepage displays the latest special offers and bouquets in the new Autumn Flowers collection. The menu system has been simplified so you can easily access any page within the main sections - Flowers, Wine & Champagne, Hampers and Gifts - from anywhere on the site. Products can be quickly filtered by price, category and type and you can now review your floral purchases. There's also a specially discounted ‘bouquet of the month' and a date-reminder service. It's a blooming impressive effort!

I'm not as impressed and don't think that the site should have got 5 stars.
Product pricing is not that transparent (why is everything shown as 'from £XX'? Delivery pricing isn't transparent either. Tell me how much delivery is upfront rather than midway through checkout!
In terms of the design, there's too much whitespace and most of the images look washed out.
Finally, I'm not so sure that FlowersDirect as a company are PCI-DSS compliant. Venda might be but are FlowersDirect. Would that cleared up on the site? I've used lots of online florists and think that my favourite is SerenataFlowers.com for next day flowers.

Yeah, but looking at the detail on that Denise I bet you probably work for Serenata Flowers. You've even managed to get their web address exactly browser precise.
I'd give Flowers Direct at least four stars myself. But as I work for a competitor of both companies, I wish they'd have actually scored a lot less. But they didn't. So live with it - just try and improve yourself, that's what I do!

Flowers Direct are Tier 1 PCI compliant and utilise Venda's solution both through our e-commerce platform and Call Centre. We have invested a considerable amount of money in our new platform to ensure compliancy now and in the future. Thanks for your comments with regards to delivery pricing and design we'll take them on board.

It's pretty obvious that Denise works for Serenata and Tony B works for Flowers Direct. I have to agree with Denise, how can a website which doesn't show the delivery charge until the last page be classed as a 5 star website?
