High-street jeweller H Samuel has now offer its own gold-recycling service.
There's been a real online gold rush recently, with a glut of websites panning for your unwanted jewellery. This one works in much the same way: register your details to receive a recycling pack and then pop in your old rings, earrings or cufflinks and post it back, free of charge. H Samuel will then contact you with a valuation, which you can accept or reject to reclaim your stuff. The basic site is very easy to use, making clear the type of items the company will and won't buy (no watches, teeth or gold-plated tat). You can also calculate the value of your gold based on its weight.
