The British Monarchy

Review Date : Fri, 27 Mar 2009

The Royal Family has updated its website to present a media-rich mix of historical and modern content, with plenty to see and do.

The relaunched regal home is certainly easy on the eye; and has an innovative feature called Virtual Rooms that gives you fascinating 360-degree views of the Royal residences. Kings and queens stretching back more than 1,600 years are all present and correct, and the homepage is updated regularly to cover current events. These include visits from foreign leaders and crowd-pleasers like the Changing of the Guard. Although it’s annoying that some videos only open in pop-up windows, the Monarchy site does a grand job of satisfying all with its mix of news, facts, galleries, maps and colourful details about the Royal pets.
