Click on the 'Home & Property' tab on the UKTV Style homepage to get to this refreshing site, which leaves no stone unturned, no wall un-papered.

SITE'S TOP TIP
To get rid of red wine stains on furnishings and carpets don't apply salt - use carbonated soda water instead.

WHAT WE LIKED
UKTV Style's site pretty much covers the full gamut of home improving - from design inspirations to Dl Y expertise (with video clips). It's crammed with absorbing features on items as diverse as making papier mache bowls to a fully comprehensive planning guide for bigger projects.

There's even advice on how to keep your neighbours sweet when the builders start at 7am (several bottles of red wine might do the trick, especially now you know how to remove any stains) and how to make a heart-shaped mobile decoration for Valentine's Day.

Of course, every DIY job needs its 10-minute cuppa breaks, provided here by the Fantasy Property Game and the Kitsch Killer, in which you shoot hideous old tat like Queen Mum commemorative plates and Toby jugs. We also loved the Your Makeover Gallery, featuring photos of spruced-up homes submitted by site visitors. And the best thing is, you can vote on how good they are. Just try not to wail, "Eww, look at that wallpaper!".

WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE
The design is a tad chaotic and the inevitable links to UK Style TV programmes do rather bully their way in. Not to mention the Dating Direct pop-ups.
