You can watch the Bahrain Grand Prix practice sessions, qualifying and the race itself live on the web this weekend.

The BBC Sport website has live coverage of the event which surfers in the UK can access for free.

The second practice session will take place at 1100GMT on Friday, with a third practice session at 0800GMT on Saturday.

On the same day qualifying will take place at 1100GMT and Sunday's race begins at 1200GMT.

The 2010 season promises to be a belter with four World Champions on the grid, including two in the McLaren team.

Last season's champion Jenson Button lines up alongside fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton, though several other teams including Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes and Force India look to have strong cars.

Mercedes include seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher in their line-up, returning after three years in retirement.

Double champion Fernando Alonso made the move to Ferrari in the close season and is among the favourites to take the title.

Red Bull's Sebastien Vettel, last year's runner-up, is aiming to go one better this year and take his maiden Formula One title, though faces competition from his Australian team-mate Mark Webber.

The first practice session threw up a few surprises, with Force India's Adrian Sutil posting the fastest time and Renault's Robert Kubica third.

Less of a surprise was the pace of the Ferraris, with Alonso second and team-mate Felipe Massa, returning after a serious head injury, in fourth.

The McLarens of Button and Hamilton were fifth and sixth respectively.
