Happy birthday Bruce Springsteen - watch videos

He might not look it, but Bruce Springsteen turns 60 today. Wow. At Glastonbury this year he didn't look a day over 59.
Celebrate the milestone by heading to his MySpace page - see link below. There are loads of videos of Bruce recording in the studio, including the songs O Mary Don't You Weep, Jacob's Ladder and Radio Nowhere.

Any Florence and the Machine fans still sulking that their favourite band didn't win the Mercury Music Prize should treat themselves to a five-song live session at MTV UK's site (see link below).
The band play Cosmic Love, Dog Days Are Over, You've Got the Heart, Drumming Song and Rabbit Heart.
The official Florence and the Machine site is worth visiting too, if only for the spooky breathing sounds (their album's called Lungs, see?).
Check out the video section, which has live footage of the band playing London's Rovili Ballroom in July.

Muse swap instruments on Italian TV - watch online

I never had Muse down as the most fun-loving band. They always look so desperately earnest and impassioned. However, while miming to their new single Uprising on Italian TV, singer-guitarist Matt Bellamy swapped instruments with drummer Dominic Howard.
Apparently, the instrument-swapping stunt was Muse's subversive response to being asked to mime. Like most bands, they prefer to play live on TV.
To be honest, Bellamy makes an amusingly rubbish drummer, banging away crazily out of time and gurning like one of the aye-ayes Stephen Fry was searching for in the most recent episode of Last Chance to See.
Howard looks far more adept in his new position. Looks like he knows all the words, even if he was only pretending to sing.

The flag-waving and head-bobbing may be especially euphoric tonight, with this Last Night of the Proms coming after a successful Ashes summer and in the week that England's qualification for the South Africa 2010 World Cup was clinched in such spectacular style.
Most of those flags will be Union Jacks, of course. And Rule, Britannia! is one of the highlights of the evening. But I think it's fair to assume the majority of the crowd at the Royal Albert Hall will be English.
You can watch Last Night of the Proms live online at the BBC One website (from 9.05 pm), and then visit the official Proms website for loads of on-demand video footage, such as Proms Plus Webcasts and MaestroCam highlights. MaestroCam, if you don't know, is similar to Sky Sports' PlayerCam. It focuses on the conductor and nothing else, providing a fascinating perspective of the concert.
For live Proms in the Park video coverage, visit the official BBC Four site (from 8pm). There are also plenty of Proms 2009 video highlights on the BBC iPlayer.
