Compare the Mosh Pit - rate the rabble

Ticket-booking service GigJunkie has launched Compare the Mosh Pit to promote the livelier side of live music, and the art of moshing.

The website presents you with side-by-side photos of two mosh pits and asks you to pick the best - no easy task when one bunch of sweaty youngsters looks much the same as the next.

You can share the pictures on Facebook to get your friends' opinions, and upload your own mosh-pit moments. A selection of the 'most hardcore' is featured on the site.

A How to Survive a Mosh Pit guide outlines the rules of moshing (or slamming, if you prefer), such as helping people who fall over and resisting the urge to 'cop a feel'.

Should you feel the urge to mosh, the site also provides a tool that lets you find your nearest pits and compare ticket prices by entering your postcode.
