Tweet your snow on a Google map

Uksnow uses Twitter hashtags to display real-time weather updates about snow.

If you use Twitter, you can tell the world whether you’re experiencing a few flakes or a few feet of snow by adding to the Uksnow mash-up for Google Maps.

Simply include the hashtag #uksnow in your tweet, along with the first part of your postcode, and then rate your snowfall from 0 to 10, where 0 is no snow, 5 is a steady fall and 10 is a blizzard.

Set up by web developer Ben Marsh, UKsnow is an invaluable weather-information resource if you’re planning a journey in the UK at the moment.

The site also displays snow-related tweets in a panel on the right-hand side, and has an iPhone app you can buy from the iTunes store for 59p.
