Like a more scientific version of the website Hot or Not, the new iPhone app Fit or Fugly lets you determine how handsome or pretty you, your friends or your colleagues are.
The app apparently uses 'Fibonacci's golden ratio' to calculate whether a face in a photo is attractive or ugly based on the symmetry of key features such as eyes, ears, chin, nose and mouth. It will then tell you whether the person is 'fit' or 'fugly' (a word surely only used by Perez Hilton).
The British creator of Fit or Fugly, Ed Nash, cheekily suggests that the app could be used to "break the ice at parties, liven up a dull day at work or school...and support your rationale for ending a relationship"!
