How to adopt the "bold and cheeky" Pipsqueak.

Anyone upset that the Compare the Meerkat Aleksandr Orlov toy has now sold out should consider adopting a meerkat instead.

This little lass is called Pipsqueak. She may not squeak "Simples" when you push her belly, but she is "bold and cheeky" and likes sunbathing and digging.

Sounds like a toddler on Margate beach, to me.

A £30 donation pays for the adoption, which also gets you an e-ticket to the zoo, access to exclusive images and videos about your animal, a personalised e-certificate and subscription to London Zoo's Wild About magazine.

Other creatures you can adopt include Bounty the squirrel monkey, Thug the pygmy hippo and Harriet the hummingbird.
