Piano stairs prove fun theory

How to make boring steps more appealing than an escalator.

Given a choice between walking up a load of steps or taking the escalator, most of us plump for the latter, lazier option.

But what if the stairs were transformed into giant piano keys? Would that make them more appealing? Yes, it would, as this video from Rolighetsteorin demonstrates.

The Swedish company (an 'initiative' of Volkswagen) believes that the easiest way to change people's behaviour for the better is by making it fun to do. Rolighetsteorin calls this 'the fun theory' and turned a staircase at a Stockholm subway station into a keyboard to prove it.
