Websites
There are loads of websites that now offer to pay you for your old jewellery, including Cash For Your Gold, Your Gold For Cash and Cash Your Gold Now.
But Cats for Gold is the first service we've come across that gives you moggy rather than money for those unwanted rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Simply fill out the forms, send in your gold and it will be melted down to 100 per cent pure feline and sent to your door in purrfect condition.
We particularly like the slogans on the site: "turn your glitter into litter!" and "lose the treasure, get the Cheshire!".
Visit Cats for Gold (thanks to Urlesque for drawing the site to our attention).
Like a more scientific version of the website Hot or Not, the new iPhone app Fit or Fugly lets you determine how handsome or pretty you, your friends or your colleagues are.
The app apparently uses 'Fibonacci's golden ratio' to calculate whether a face in a photo is attractive or ugly based on the symmetry of key features such as eyes, ears, chin, nose and mouth. It will then tell you whether the person is 'fit' or 'fugly' (a word surely only used by Perez Hilton).

The British creator of Fit or Fugly, Ed Nash, cheekily suggests that the app could be used to "break the ice at parties, liven up a dull day at work or school...and support your rationale for ending a relationship"!
You can buy Fit or Fugly for 59p from the iTunes App Store.
Quizipedia is a non-taxing way to get your brain cells working on a dreary Monday.
Simply fill in the blanks in 10 articles taken from the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia. Can you guess them all in 60 seconds?
Perennial Christmas favourite Elf Yourself has returned for 2009 with new social-networking elements.
As before, you can turn your friends and family into dancing elves by uploading photos from your computer but you can also add images from your Facebook account.
Elf Yourself lets you create up to five elves and choose from five different dances including Disco, Hip Hop and the new Singing option.
Your elf movie can now be shared on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace as well as by email, plus you can pay $4.99 (about £2.99) to download the clip to your PC or iPhone.
Design your elves now at Elf Yourself!
Most celebrities put minimal effort into their official websites, offering little more than an advert for their project against a dull black background.
But Jim Carrey, the rubber-faced star of The Mask, The Truman Show and Bruce Almighty has launched a resoundly impressive online home - a surreal multimedia landscape of visual delights and bizarre sounds.
Click on the Biography link, for example, and a giant squid will whisk you to a pulsating eyeball where you can view a potted summary of Carrey's career within the pupil.
Clicking a bird with Jim's head takes you to the actor's Twitter account while a hot-air balloon guides you to watch a trailer for his latest film, A Christmas Carol.
The site's graphic-intense design means it can be slow to load and navigate but there's plenty here to explore and enjoy.
It's already been described by Entertainment Weekly as a "visually stunning treat" and by the Wall Street Journal as "bizarre, mind-bendy experience into the world of Jim Carrey".
