On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me...one pint too many

The true festive spirit

By Toby Earle, Staff Writer, Web User

Spilling onto the street giddy with festive spirits, namely Baileys, we were arrested by the notion of belting out hymns that we hadn't mumbled since teachers forced us to at cane-point. As Midnight Mass was already underway, we crept into the nave and wedged ourselves onto a pew.

Instantly comfortable, the sandman was about to pounce when the Hey Jude of Christmas carols started - Hark The Herald Angels Sing (www.carols.org.uk/hark_the_herald_angels_sing.htm).
Bellowing at the top of our lungs, our rousing gusto was undermined by not knowing any lyrics other than the chorus. Disapproving looks, and kebab lust, hastened our departure.
