Adopting a cheap and cheerful approach to web design, Yahoo Geocities provides a choice of PageWizards to get your site up and running. While these are very restrictive in terms of deciding the appearance of your site, they’re undoubtedly a massive help for beginners and can build a basic site in a matter of minutes. The problem is that once created, you can’t really do a lot with it, aside from changing the colour and revising the text.
Verdict
Strangely, Yahoo Geocities provides a HTML editor for more advanced users, and several add-ons such as guest books and counters, but no WYSIWYG tools that would let you customise your pages quickly and easily.
