Magix Movie Edit Pro 14

Review Date : Thu, 13 Mar 2008

Magix has an attractive interface based on layers of tabs, so finding overall options is simple once you’ve mastered the basic structure.

Magix has an attractive interface based on layers of tabs, so finding overall options is simple once you’ve mastered the basic structure. However, bottom-line options like the list of available transitions eventually end up in a tree-like folder system.

The biggest disappointment is that, in this version, some features require paid-for plug-ins, such as ripping DVDs or writing to MPEG 4. This may keep the price down but is frustrating when you’re trying to explore its limits.

This version includes a handy direct upload to YouTube but those looking for HD need to upgrade to Movie Edit Pro Plus (£59.99).
