Wuala acts like a cross between online storage and social networking. You get 1GB of online storage space free, you can buy more, or you can trade local disk space for storage.

Wuala acts like a cross between online storage and social networking. You get 1GB of online storage space for free, and you can buy more, but you can also trade local disk space for extra storage. For example, you could give 20GB of your hard disk space to Wuala in exchange for 20GB of online space. In effect, your local storage becomes another member’s online space, and vice versa.

The software is excellent and you can drag and drop files to upload and download them. Files and folders can be made private, shared with friends or made public, and your online space is mapped as a disk drive in Windows. There’s no back-up or file synchronisation, but otherwise it’s an excellent service.
