MozyHome

Like Carbonite, MozyHome offers to store unlimited data, making it ideal for those with big files to back up.

Like Carbonite, MozyHome offers to store unlimited data, making it ideal for those with big files to back up. The drawback, as with Carbonite, is that it may take weeks to upload them.

MozyHome is a more subdued product than Carbonite in terms of looks, integrating well into Windows, though it hasn’t got some of the step-by-step wizards that Carbonite is graced with. Once it’s up and running, it blends neatly into the background but marks your file’s icons to show a file’s back-up status.

We’ve been using MozyHome solidly for a year since we last reviewed it and have to admit to being deeply impressed. While we haven’t had any cause to retrieve our data, the Windows integration means you can easily check on its availability. Our one gripe is that it only offers protection for a single computer.
