SIMshield

What we liked:
With SIMshield, you can be up and running in next to no time. Simply send a text message to a special number and your account, complete with PIN protection, will be automatically created for you. Creating your first back-up is a simple matter of synchronising all your existing contacts – future synchronisations are faster as only address book changes need to be uploaded. If you’re looking for a simple, no-nonsense service, this may well be just what you have been waiting for.

How it can be improved:
SIMshield is a subscription service costing £1.50 a month on top of any SMS back-up you make. While this may not be much, other services offer more for free and only contacts are covered by SIMshield.

Our verdict:
SIMshield is something of a limited service which is great if your back-up needs are not too high.
