Offering 25GB free of charge, MediaMax is a tempting proposition, but there are bandwidth and file-size limitations. You can download 1GB a month and files must be under 25MB each. A Premium account offers 100GB of space with 10GB a month bandwidth and any file size for $4.95 (£2.60), which is an offer that is hard to refuse.

MediaMax software makes uploading easy and you can access your online space through a web browser. There are some interesting features, such as the ability to include links to files in emails, specify how many times a link can be accessed and set an expiration date. It’s not as feature rich as iBackup or Xdrive, but it’s still pretty good.
