Locate32

This lightweight program doesn’t index your hard disk in the same way as some other tools but, instead, uses databases to store information about the structure of your directories.

This lightweight program doesn’t index your hard disk in the same way as some other tools but, instead, uses databases to store information about the structure of your directories. This makes it lightning fast when it comes to finding named files, but not so great at locating a text string inside a document. There are quite a few search options available, but it’s not the most flexible of programs.
