Vista’s built-in search tool is excellent, but this new replacement is even better. It’s much faster and it’s also available for the older operating system.
Vista’s built-in search tool is excellent, but this new replacement is even better. It’s much faster and – good news for XP users – it’s also available for the older operating system. The program adds a Search box to the Taskbar and results are displayed as you type. You can click the file you want or open the Search application. This lets you refine your request or narrow the results down to a specific category – photos, music or documents, for example. Single-clicking an item will display a preview of it, so you can make sure it’s exactly what you want before opening the actual file itself.
You can choose which areas of your hard disk to monitor, and the program can also index files on multiple PCs across a network.
