SearchRocket 2.0

Although not the prettiest of tools, SearchRocket is fast and functional. A bar is created from a separate browser window down the left-hand side of your screen. Type your search into this and SearchRocket will collate results from a selection of different search engines, including Google, AltaVista, MSN, Hotbot and the Open Directory. Unfortunately, because of the way it’s organised, you have to do your own comparisons as to whether certain sites are found in more than one search engine, as they’re grouped independently. This isn’t ideal, but having all the results from the various search engines together on one screen is a useful function.

There are two guides to get you started: a one-minute tour and a more detailed features guide. But you can actually get started without reading either of these by simply typing your query into the box marked search, which is more than adequate for most needs.
