ThinkFree's online alternative to Microsoft Office looks and acts just like the original
ThinkFree is a serious emulator of Microsoft Office (the 2003 edition, mercifully). Set the ThinkFree Write window to full screen, for instance, and you could quickly forget that you’re working in a web browser. All the menus, buttons and shortcuts that you might associate with Microsoft Word are present and correct, and it just looks, feels and acts like an installed application.
Why, then, do we consider Google Docs the better online office suite? Well, the clue is in the trailing part of that question – ‘online office suite’. ThinkFree emulates installed software very well, but it does so at the expense of performance. The individual applications take an online age to load – sometimes up to a minute – and even menus can take seconds to appear. It’s far from unusable but frustrating nonetheless.
Back to the good stuff, though, and we love the Power Tool extension. Install it to your PC and you can work on documents even if internet access is unavailable.

i think Thinkfree has just taken Microsoft Office products and duplicated them - a bit like computer plagiarism. I have no respect for companies that steal one idea andc pawn it off as their own. The fact that the program is online essentially makes it very vulnerable to unscrupulous hackers, particularly if you are recording company or personal data. I give it a 10 out of 10 for copying, but a zero for lack of genuine innovation,
