GoToMyPC’s installation is simple. If your PC is turned on and has an internet connection, you can connect to it by logging on to the GoToMyPC website. You’ll need to download and run a small file though, so if you’re using a PC where you can’t install files – say, at work or at an internet café – this could be an issue. A universal viewer option lets you connect without having to download an application, but the PC you are using must have Java installed. Once connected, you can control every aspect of your remote PC’s Desktop. Transfer files with the file-transfer tool or by dragging and dropping from one machine to the other. It works well, but at nearly £12 a month, it’ll have to be in regular use to justify the cost.
