Online Armor Personal Firewall Pro

With a 98 per cent overall score from Matousec, the commercial version of Online Armor is a highly efficient firewall, offering excellent security. Upon installation, the program scans your system to gather information about your common internet programs and to check your start-up items for security risks. It also scans for unsafe Internet Explorer add-ons and known keyloggers. Once the initial set-up is complete, you’re prompted to restart and the program runs quietly in the System Tray, providing balloon alerts for key security events.

You can run a full scan for dangerous programs from the General tab of the main interface. Options let you set scheduled updates and also back-up and restore Online Armor’s settings. Ultimately though, Outpost performed marginally better in Matousec’s tests.
