Ashampoo Firewall Free 1.20

Ashampoo is a fairly new kid on the free firewall block but it performed reasonably well. However, it fell down on one element of the Shields Up test by responding to a ping.

Ashampoo is a fairly new kid on the free firewall block but it performed reasonably well in our tests. However, it fell down on one element of the Shields Up test by responding to a ping. This could flag up your computer’s location to hackers, rather than shrouding it in total stealth mode, but the program’s success on all other tests should make exploiting this difficult. That said, it failed all but one of the Atelier Web tests so you’ll need to maintain vigilance over your system with anti-virus and anti-spyware software too. Nevertheless, it does have a great interface that’s well-organised and really easy to use, along with a bunch of other features for managing the overall security of your computer.
