Outpost Free 1.0

With its unfriendly and complicated interface, it’s easy to make mistakes with Outpost. We managed to erroneously prevent Internet Explorer from accessing the internet, and then spent an age working out how to undo it. Next, it failed an important Shields Up test, and we could not ascertain how to increase the security. We eventually managed to remove the dodgy entry in the list and only then was the test passed. In conclusion, while it seems to work OK, it does take some effort and prior knowledge to use, so Outpost is not the best firewall for the inexperienced.
