Windows Live Hotmail

Review Date : Thu, 12 Feb 2009

As the oldest service, Hotmail is almost synonymous with webmail, although it developed a reputation for being the prime target for spammers.

As the oldest service, Hotmail is almost synonymous with webmail, although it developed a reputation for being the prime target for spammers. The most positive feature is that you get 5GB of storage but the interface remains horribly clunky. Adding new folders, for instance, requires you to set up filters and simple tasks can involve far too many steps. Because Windows Live Messenger is built into Windows, Hotmail has a lot of users, but it really needs to up the ante if it wants to compete with the big boys.
