BitComet

Review Date : Thu, 13 Apr 2006

BitComet can look confusing at first, lacking the simplistic design of its rivals with lots of information on show.

BitComet can look confusing at first, lacking the simplistic design of its rivals with lots of information on show. However, once you know where everything is then it’s fairly simple to get to grips with.

It’ll happily support multiple downloads, so you don’t need to queue items up and wait for one to finish before you can get going on another download, and you can set a limit on your upload speed, so it won’t flood the connection and prevent other web use while it’s active. It’s fairly feature-packed, although you can’t increase its functionality via plug-ins.

Verdict

BitComet can seem complicated to the uninitiated, but it’s a competent program if you’re prepared to put the work in.
