If you’re after a clean, trouble-free interface to lead you on the way to BitTorrent goodness then ABC fills the criteria admirably.

If you’re after a clean, trouble-free interface to lead you on the way to BitTorrent goodness then ABC (which stands for ‘yet Another BitTorrent Client’) fills the criteria admirably. While other programs go out of their way to show you what’s going on behind the scenes, ABC sticks to the basics, presenting only the essential information and controls.

Its big buttons make it simple to control and although it seems paired down at the front, it’s not short on features. It’ll happily handle multiple downloads, so you don’t need to wait for one file to finish before you can get started on another, and there’s an upload limiter, so you can keep your internet connection usable while transferring files.

Verdict

ABC covers the essentials and covers them well. It may lack the customisation or plug-ins of Azureus but it’s also easier to get started with and offers a clean, easy-to-use interface.
