One of the older and better-known download managers, FlashGet gained an unfortunate reputation when it was discovered to have spyware bundled with it. A later version also reportedly served as a Trojan downloader for a week or so, after the developer’s server got hacked. The latest release is clean and offers features such as BitTorrent and eMule support. It’s safe to use but it’s worth bearing this tool’s unfortunate past in mind.
