Ashampoo UnInstaller is perhaps the perfect uninstaller. With it installed, you should never again need to worry about an uninstallation failing or leaving redundant files behind. This is because when you use the program’s Installation Assistant before installing new applications, it takes a virtual snapshot of the PC’s current configuration, every file installed and any changes made during the new program’s installation. Armed with this ‘before and after’ picture of the PC, UnInstaller can then reliably wind back the computer to where it was before the installation, should you so require.

Like our Gold Award winner, CCleaner, it has rubbish-removal facilities, and while it has a more user-friendly interface, it’s also £35 more expensive.
