Fast, free and extremely user-friendly, Disk Cleaner is a tiny clean-up utility offering big performance. Operation is simplicity itself: all you need to do is launch the program and it will immediately report back on the amount of unnecessary files on your hard drive. Search results are provided in the form of a list telling you which applications and areas the redundant items belong to, be they temporary internet files in your browser cache (IE, Firefox or Opera), entries in recent document lists or old logs from security scans. You can then choose exactly what to delete or keep, click the Clean button and many megabytes of disk space will be reclaimed. That’s all there is to it really, aside from an option to run Disk Cleaner silently on start-up to prevent junk building up again.
