Paying for spyware protection when you can get it free from Spybot or Ad-Aware might seem unnecessary, but Spyware Doctor proves you can’t put a price on peace of mind for your PC.

Paying for spyware protection when you can get it free from Spybot or Ad-Aware might seem unnecessary, but Spyware Doctor proves you can’t put a price on peace of mind for your PC. In terms of both detection and prevention, it goes much deeper than its competitors, removing and blocking even the most devious web pests. This includes the recent unwanted phenomenon of rootkits, alongside the usual malware offenders.

It starts scanning your system as soon as installation is complete, ensuring you begin using the program with a clean slate. It works very efficiently, rooting out numerous infections overlooked by all the other software we tested, and provides a detailed description and threat level for every scan result.

Total protection is ensured using a powerful feature called IntelliGuard, which covers everything from security flaws and browser settings to keyloggers and pop-ups. There’s also a scheduler for regular scanning and updating, and automatic immunisation against malicious ActiveX objects. For just under £20, Spyware Doctor is definitely worth the money.
