MSI Starcam Clip

Although the StarCam Clip is a neat little package, it doesn’t come with much in the way of useful software.

Although the StarCam Clip is a neat little package, especially if you’re looking for something portable that’ll clip onto your laptop screen, it doesn’t come with much in the way of useful software. It has an archaic system for capturing video that doesn’t even let you preview what you’re seeing, though the simple tool for emailing yourself security images is a bit more useful, especially since it can also pick up movement in the dark with the included infra-red option.

We didn’t think all that much of the general picture quality though, which appeared washed out and gave some odd colours – it’s the cheapest camera of the lot and frankly it shows. There’s no denying that it works though, so if you are looking for an ultra-budget option and don’t care for the frills, you won’t find a webcam for much less.
