PNY Attaché Optima 8GB

The PNY Attaché Optima model is a great all-rounder, offering second-place speed with a good balance of features and an attractive price for a decent performance. We felt the need to knock a point off the ease-of-use score though because both sides of the device are identical, which makes it a bit more difficult to work out which way to plug it into your machine. We suspect users will end up sticking a ‘this side up’ label on it. Bundled software comes in the form of Carry It Easy, which lets you encrypt sensitive data. You can also use it with Vista’s ReadyBoost option.
