Canon’s all-in-one printer is a truly versatile device, offering scanning and photo printing in one handy unit.
Best Price:
Canon’s all-in-one printer is a truly versatile device for the photo enthusiast. Everything has been thought through and cleverly implemented on this product, so you’ll feel positively pampered using it. Controls on the device are kept to a minimum with an attractive and intuitive menu system, accessed through the printer’s colour screen, providing configuration options in a simple, flexible way.
It’s rich on features too. All the printers in this test come with slots for memory cards and most have PictBridge functionality for direct printing from your digital camera, but this model also features a specialist CD label printer. It has two paper trays so you can have photo and plain paper loaded simultaneously and uses five inks in individual reservoirs so you can minimise ink wastage.
However, there’s one thing that really clinched it for the Canon and this was its printing. In our tests it proved to be a solid all-rounder, which is exactly what you want from an all-in-one. It offers superb quality on photo paper and gives great results when printing documents on plain paper too. It may be at the upper end of the price scale but, with great printing and extras like the CD label printer, it’s worth it.
