JAL WU XP 3000

Review Date : Thu, 16 Sep 2004

This is the Texas of PCs – it’s enormous. From the huge black box to the massive monitor, this isn’t the model to choose if you’re short of space.

A big PC can bring benefits though and inside the case there’s bags of room for upgrading, with loads of drive bays, and slots for expansion cards and more memory.

This would be a great computer for a keen digital photographer, with the built-in memory card reader (Memory Stick, Secure Digital, CompactFlash and SmartMedia cards) and the cathode ray tube monitor for vibrant colour.

USB devices are well supported with three ports on the front of the PC and six more on the back, though you’d have to add your own Firewire capability should you need it.

Verdict

With the matching mouse and keyboard, the general size of the system and its attractive black colour and silvery trimmings, this is an imposing PC with a great specification for the price.
