Belkin Laptop Cushdesk

Belkin's Cushdesk has an angled design for improved positioning

This laptop rest has an angled design that provides coolness and comfort.

With its leather-look plastic top and coloured fabric bottom, this simple laptop cushion looks more like an item of soft furnishing than a gadget for your computer. While looks aren’t everything, a laptop accessory that can fit neatly with your interior design is surely a bonus.

What nudges the CushDesk into our Gold Award position, ahead of the similarly conceived Logitech Lapdesk, is its angled design. The cushion has more padding at the back of the base than at the front, thus raising the laptop to a comfortable position. This is a product that feels reassuringly solid, resting comfortably on the legs and distributing the weight of your laptop evenly.

The downside is that, because it’s a solid cushion that covers your legs, its total coverage will warm up your lap to some degree, just as a normal cushion might. However, this will still be considerably cooler than direct contact with your laptop, which is kept a good insulating distance away.

All in all, if you’re actually going to use your laptop on your lap, this is the most comfortable of the devices on offer.
