3 mobile broadband

We tested the mobile broadband services from all the UK's networks - here's the one that came out top.
Although 3 uses the same Huawei E160 modem that most of its competitors use, the company has gone to the extra effort of writing its own software. It’s very straightforward and has most of the information you need, including signal strength, account usage and text messaging. You need to visit the website to get the most accurate usage statistics, but a link is provided from the software.
Cost-wise, you need to buy into the 18- or 24-month contracts to get the best pricing, with £15- or £30-per-month contracts coming in at £3 or £2 per GB respectively. Lighter users don’t get such good value for money but, with 1GB download options available, the overall costs are significantly reduced.
