Cowon D2+

For a player of such diminutive size, this miniature marvel packs quite a punch. The screen measures a petite 2.5in and the unit as a whole isn’t much bigger. What’s more, the small screen size doesn’t detract from its effectiveness. Like its big brother – the Cowon S9, above – this model can display 16 million colours while doubling as a touchscreen, thus dispensing with the need for extra buttons and a larger unit size to house them.

For a serious video player it’s perhaps a little on the small side, but if you’re looking for compact size coupled with high quality, this makes for great viewing.
