Popcorn Hour A110

Review Date : Sun, 31 May 2009

Author : Andy Shaw

Are you looking for ways to get movies, photos and music from your PC to your TV? Then consider the wonderful Popcorn Hour A110.

There is only a handful of companies selling the Popcorn Hour A110 – we chose to get ours from Ripcaster, because it offers to supply the devices with an unformatted hard disk already installed. If you’d rather fit your own you can buy the shell for £199.99.

Plug the device into your TV and you’ll find a very attractive interface. It’s text-based, but it operates using UPnP to collect media content from devices on your network, so instead of shuffling through files and folders you see playlists, albums, genres and artists. Or you can save media to the installed hard disk of course.

It will also connect to the internet and play specially configured versions of YouTube and Flickr, which is novel. Overall, this is a great all-rounder that’ll get your PC-based media onto your TV in a neat and tidy way.
