The SpaceNavigator isn’t designed to replace your mouse but augment it. It’s specifically designed to help navigate 3D spaces, including Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth and Google SketchUp. Buying a separate device just for 3D work is probably best left to the enthusiast, but if you number yourself among Google Earth’s biggest fans, you’re sure to be delighted.

Wired, solid and well built, this device is heavy enough to stay rooted to the desk. It might be pricey but flying around virtual Earths couldn’t feel more natural.
