Kensington Slimblade Trackball

Review Date : Thu, 26 Mar 2009

This exciting-looking wireless model isn’t a mouse. It consists of a ball on a smooth dial which you rotate with your fingers to scroll around or twist to emulate the middle mouse button.

The fact that this exciting-looking wireless model isn’t a mouse and so involves a bit of a learning curve is the only thing keeping it out of our top three. It consists of a ball on a smooth dial which you rotate with your fingers to scroll around or twist to emulate the middle mouse button. The buttons are located under your thumb and shorter fingers and you get two extra buttons for volume control and zoom. Your wrist stays totally still, making it comfortable to use. However, it doesn’t come cheap and is currently exclusive to Apple (www.apple.com).
