Jessops 8in Black Acrylic Picture Frame

Review Date : Thu, 4 Dec 2008

If you can’t stretch to the Sony’s price tag but wouldn’t mind something that mimics the look, Jessops’ smaller 8in frame might do the job.

If you can’t stretch to the Sony’s price tag but wouldn’t mind something that mimics the look, Jessops’ smaller 8in frame might do the job. The frame has a similar look and feel to it, with a glass covering that gives your pictures a glossy look. It does a very good job of rendering your photos, though it doesn’t quite reach Sony’s zenith, despite still offering 800 x 600 pixel resolution.

While it doesn’t automatically adjust orientation when you rotate the frame, it does have a slot for plugging in USB storage and it plays Motion-JPEG movies and MP3 music. It also has the same 256MB of internal memory as the Sony and supports Secure Digital, Compact Flash, Memory Stick and xD memory cards.

Putting the two frames side by side, the larger and more expensive Sony is clearly superior, but the Jessops frame still offers an excellent alternative. Your pictures may be on a smaller frame but they’ll still look great and for a vastly reduced price.
