Samsung SPF-105P

Samsung’s 10in photo frame is heavy on features but comparatively light on your wallet. It's time to show off your digital photos in style.
Samsung’s 10in photo frame looks, from a distance, like a standard black-edged rectangle, but get in close and you’ll see its glossy frame is adorned with decorative swirls. This attractive exterior also houses the device’s controls, so there’s no need for a remote. The controls light up when your finger brushes past them and the buttons are touch-sensitive. When you’re done, the lights fade back down, leaving no clue that they’re even there.
The frame has a very generous 1GB of built-in storage, or you can plug in the usual memory devices, such as Secure Digital, Memory Stick or Compact Flash. There’s also a USB port so you can slot in USB storage. You can have music playing while your slideshow is on, and the frame will showcase your movie files, as long as they’re Motion-JPEG – a standard that many digital cameras use.
The Samsung frame uses a slightly different resolution to most, at 1,024 x 600 pixels. This makes it more like a widescreen ratio, which will crop a landscape photo at the top and bottom, rather than the side cropping that a 800 x 600 screen would do.
The picture quality is very good indeed and if we hadn’t lined this up next to the flawless Sony, we would doubtless say it was perfect.
For the price, Samsung’s strong proposition is excellent value for money, making this a generously featured device that’s reasonably kind to your wallet.
